Printing today means far more than just putting letters on paper. Using what are known as 3D printers, items that previously had to be produced laboriously using saws and files or injection molding in the workshop can now be made on the spot. It’s even possible to make edible things. The Freiburg Materials Research Center has many pioneers in 3D printing technology teaching and researching.
