This is the eighth lecture of the course "Transfer Operators and Modular Forms". In this lecture, we discuss the period correspondence for the non-holomorphic Eisenstein series. Moreover, we give several examples of the transfer operators and provide the discretization of the geodesic flow on the modular surface that gives rise to a so-called slow transfer operator, whose 1-eigenfunctions satisfy the three-term functional equation.
Errata:
around 17:00, when talking about the non-holomorohic Eisenstein series, I am saying $s \not \in \Z$, but writing $s \in \Z$. It should be $s \not \in \Z$.
